Day 5 - Year 7

The celebration of Math week concluded on 15th of OCT 2020 with a bang of activities starting with impersonate great mathematicians were students enacted different Mathematicians highlighting their contribution to the field of Mathematics. Further students linked math with various other subjects and applied math to real life situations. Students talked about the importance of maths and how the use of maths makes our life work smoothly. One student used his creativity and made a math weighing machine using Lego. Students did research on palindrome numbers and Sierspinski triangles and explained it to their classmates. A group of students used coding to make micro bit fishy dippy games. Students created beautiful art designs using geometrical shapes and mathematical concepts of symmetry and tessellations. They also explained how math is used in construction of buildings. Students challenged their friends with quizzes and riddles. They used Minecraft, scratch and various other ICT tools to create their quizzes. All the activities were thoroughly enjoyed by the students. The consolidation of math week was done in pear deck where students reflected their learning experiences and connected the concepts to real life.

Math week was an enthralling experience for the entire cohort of year 7. Mathematics is regarded as the queen of all sciences. Without math there is nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics.
