Day 4 of Math week celebration showcased activities by year 7 where they could find cross curricular links of maths and other subjects. Cross-curricular learning offered a creative way of developing knowledge, understanding and practical skills through a study of interconnected topics. Students could associate math with Arabic by discussing the Arabic history of math and conducting a quiz on the same, they linked ICT and math by using Tinker cad, coding and various other ICT tools to explain various concepts of maths. Students related math with space by explaining how astronomers use various mathematical concepts in making their observations and conclusions, they connected math and sports by discussing about the distance covered by ball on various shots in cricket, angles of penalty shoots in soccer, players distance and angle of throw to basket in basketball and so on. Few students presented beautiful poems and also presented mathematical topics in different languages to show the connection of math and linguistics. Math was linked to history to show the time line and how during the ancient period many industrial revolutions took place where maths was needed and also about the sculptures, the statues etc that needed maths for its construction. A student explained how various geometrical concepts were used while making an aircraft and also how math can be linked to its operations. Students could also find the link of math and science by giving appropriate examples were math is used in various topics of physics, biology and chemistry
